The first phase of the project was the Planting Trees and Friendlys in Azerbaijan event. The event was attended by President of the Special Olympic Committee Mr. Shahin Aliyev, Director of Integrated Boarding School No. 11 Gulnara Abdullayeva, Head of UNEC Inclusive Education Center Ms. Sevinj Mehsimova, Project Manager Ms. MirGunay Bayramova, Azerbaijan State University School of Education students and Special Olympics athletes. It should be noted that the project was one of 79 projects selected by the International Special Olympics from 52 countries with the participation of the Special Olympic Committee of the Republic of Azerbaijan. The main goal of the project is to support inclusive development among young people in the global sphere, integration of young people with limited resources into society, and the development of future young leaders.
